Times are based on a recommended ratio of 6 students to 1 Instructor to 1 manikin. Heartsaver First Aid Skills Session Course 1-2 hours without breaks Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives rather than a prescribed instruction time.
Heartsaver First Aid Card
Heartsaver First Aid is a credentialed course. Students who successfully complete the Heartsaver First Aid course receive a course completion card valid for two years.

American Heart Association Certification – Skills-Only Format
Already completed the online portion of the American Heart Association Heartsaver® First Aid course? Complete your certification with Safeguard CPR’s hands-on skills session led by a certified AHA instructor.
This in-person skills check is the final step of the blended learning option, designed for individuals who prefer the flexibility of online learning with the assurance of in-person, practical evaluation.
Course Includes:

Hands-on scenario training for medical, injury, and environmental emergencies

One-on-one skills evaluation

Same-day AHA eCard (valid for 2 years upon successful completion)

Bring or email your certificate of completion before your scheduled skills session

Must fully participate in all required skill demonstrations

Ability to follow instructions, respond to scenarios, and use first aid equipment correctly

Wear comfortable, casual clothing suitable for hands-on practice (closed-toe shoes recommended)

Certification Issuance

Upon successful completion, a 2-year AHA Heartsaver® First Aid eCard will be issued the same day
