Times are based on a recommended ratio of 6 students to 1 Instructor to 1 manikin. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course 2-4 hours without breaks​ ​Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives rather than a prescribed instruction time.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Card

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a credentialed course. Providers who successfully complete the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course receive a course completion card valid for two years.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course Description

The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course is designed for individuals with little or no medical training who need a CPR and First Aid certification for work, regulatory requirements, or personal preparedness. This American Heart Association (AHA)–approved course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to respond to common first aid emergencies: bleeding, sprains, burns, choking, and more

  • CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants

  • How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • How to recognize and respond to cardiac arrest and breathing emergencies

  • Proper techniques for injury and illness prevention and management until professional help arrives

  • Fitness instructors and personal trainers

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED  Requirements

  • No Prior Medical Experience Required

  • This course is designed for lay responders, workplace staff, and community members with little to no medical background.

  • Pre-Registration & Payment Required

  • Students must register and pay in advance to reserve a seat

  • Same-day or walk-in options may be limited depending on availability

  • Minimum Age Recommendation: 12+

  • While there is no strict age limit, students should be mature enough to understand and perform the skills taught

  • Participation in All Hands-On Activities

  • You must actively participate in CPR, AED, and first aid skills practice sessions

  • Demonstrating key skills is required for certification

  • Completion of Full Course Time

  • The course lasts approximately 3–4 hours

  • Students must attend the entire session to be eligible for certification

  • Valid Photo ID (Recommended for Certification Record)

  • Bring a government-issued or school-issued photo ID for identity verification

  • Appropriate Clothing

  • Wear comfortable clothes, as you’ll be practicing CPR on the floor

  • 📜 Upon Successful Completion, You Will Receive:

  • American Heart Association Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED eCard

  • Certification valid for 2 years, accepted by employers, schools, and licensing agencies
