Heartsaver First Aid Course Estimated Time

Times are based on a recommended ratio of 6 students to 1 Instructor to 1 manikin. Heartsaver First Aid Course 1-2 hours without breaks​ ​Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives rather than a prescribed instruction time.

Heartsaver First Aid Card

Heartsaver First Aid is a credentialed course. Students who successfully complete the Heartsaver First Aid course receive a course completion card valid for two years.

Heartsaver First Aid Course Description

American Heart Association Certification – 2-Year Validity

Safeguard CPR’s Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to respond to common medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Whether it’s a workplace requirement or a personal goal, this course provides practical, hands-on training in a supportive environment—no medical background needed.

You’ll learn how to respond to:

  • Sudden illness (e.g., fainting, stroke, seizures, allergic reactions)

  • Injuries (e.g., bleeding, sprains, broken bones, burns)

  • Environmental emergencies (e.g., heatstroke, hypothermia)

  • Breathing problems and medical emergencies

Course Includes:

  • Instructor-led, scenario-based training

  • American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid certification

  • Same-day digital eCard (valid for 2 years)

  • All training materials provided

🕒 Course Duration: Approximately 2–3 hours

Heartsaver First Aid  Requirements

  • Minimum Age

  • Participants must be 12 years or older (exceptions may be made with guardian consent).

  • Advance Registration

  • Pre-registration and payment are required to reserve your seat.

  • Walk-ins are not guaranteed a spot due to limited class sizes.

  • Identification

  • Bring a valid photo ID for certification verification.

  • Participation

  • Must be able to actively engage in all skills practice and scenarios.

  • Participation is required for successful course completion.

  • Clothing

  • Wear comfortable, casual clothing suitable for practical, hands-on learning.

  • Closed-toe shoes are recommended.

  • Completion Criteria

  • Attend the entire class session

  • Successfully demonstrate all required first aid skills

  • Participate in scenario-based practice with your instructor

  • Manual (Optional but Encouraged)

  • AHA Heartsaver First Aid Student Workbook is recommended for in-class use and future reference (available for purchase or digital download).
